The operator stands on a stairway outside the Pier 17 mall at the South Street Seaport, downtown Manhattan, New York. The moving camera makes foreground objects such as the railing jump out of the image, giving a more 3-D feel to the imagery than would a simple pan using a stationary camera. This effect of the moving camera can't be achieved simply using lens functions such as zoom. Moving camera is made simple using Hand Held Remote Camera Positioner technology.
